Emile Allais - the grandfather of racing dies

Emile Allais, the skiing legend, who was born in Megeve has died aged 100 years old.  Winner of multiple medals in various World Championships and a bronze at the 1936 Olympics he was a true Megeve Champion.  He has given his name to the Emile Allais piste which used to be the Megeve downhill race track and the thought of flying straight down it is fairly nerve wracking!  He was skiing up until the age of 99 years old and lived with his family in Megeve.  For a great article on Emile Allais see  http://welove2ski.com/emile-allais.
